![]() ![]() An Atlanta can do 8,316 damage from a single broadside salvo of HE into a destroyer. A single salvo from a Kongo-class battleship can do up to 80,000 damage to a cruiser, battleship or aircraft carrier it hits. The only predicate is that you have to have weapons capable of stripping that much HP in one go and the opportunity to do so. It could be any one of those three.Īny ship in the game can take a Devastating Strike from someone else. It makes literally no sense. The only thing it seems to me is it is a critical. The most common is probably from torpedo hits taking out destroyers, but there are other frequent causes such as salvos of torpedoes catching a battleship or cruiser unawares, a cruiser getting its citadel blown out, a destroyer eating a massive salvo of battleship HE, etc.Īll i am asking for is what allows this to happen and WHY can only battleships do it to to Cruisers etc. It's some poor sucker eating everything thrown at it in a bad way. Note that a "single" attack can be something like being hammered by six torpedoes, or taking 14 citadel hits from an Atlanta or being hammered by two stacked torpedo-bomber squadrons. ![]() All this is, at it's core, is when a ship loses more than half its health from a single attack. There's lots of ways of getting Devastating Strikes. So tell me why we really need this game mechanic? We already have Mag explosions (ammo being hit) This mechanic is stupid and I know that BB captains love it cause they love their over-powered abilities but I am just not sure I see a real point in having a total RNG baseless mechanic in this game., What part of the ship would be able to take a hit and blow up right them and there? ![]()
